What our Missouri records show

We joined the Census block IDs in the uploaded FCC records to 2020 Census city boundaries. Of the 12 cities in our directory, both brands appear in 10. Springfield has AT&T records but no Spectrum records in this cable-and-fiber snapshot; Columbia has Spectrum records but no AT&T records. Missing records are not proof that every service from a provider is unavailable.

A reported block is a geographic area containing one or more locations with a provider report. Counts are not households, market share, or coverage percentages. Blocks vary in size and population; do not use these counts to rank cities or infer address-level coverage. Cable and fiber records for the same provider and block are counted once in this table.

Compare the connection and both speed directions

Within these city snapshots, AT&T’s fiber records contain a maximum advertised tier of 5,000 Mbps download and 5,000 Mbps upload. Spectrum’s cable and fiber records contain a maximum of 1,000/1,000 Mbps. Those are historical records in the supplied files, not a complete list of today’s plans or a promise of speed at your home.

For example, Florissant’s provider overview shows AT&T fiber in 650 reported blocks and Spectrum in 683. Spectrum’s cable and fiber reports overlap, so adding the separate technology counts would overstate the number of distinct reported blocks.

How to compare AT&T and Spectrum offers fairly

1. Check the same full address. Include your apartment or unit, and ask whether installation can be completed when you need it. A provider reporting service elsewhere in your city is only a starting point.
2. Write down download and upload rates. Use the plan offered at your address, rather than the largest number advertised anywhere in the city.
3. Match the pricing assumptions. Ask which discounts require AutoPay, another service, or new-customer eligibility. Include equipment and installation charges that are not already in the monthly quote.

5. Check cancellation and return terms. Confirm whether you must return equipment and whether any contract or other charges apply before switching.

Which provider is cheaper?

The FCC files used here contain coverage and advertised speeds, not plan prices. We cannot name the cheaper provider for your home from these records. Get current address-specific quotes from AT&T and Spectrum, then compare the total cost for the time you expect to keep the service.
