Compare the full cost of internet, not just the first bill
Use the provider’s written quote, order summary, and broadband label to collect the costs for the plan available at your address. Enter a promotion only if you qualify for it. If there is no introductory period, set promotion months to 0 and enter the monthly price in the ongoing-rate field.
- Monthly rate: record the price you will actually pay, including any discount you qualify for. Do not count a discount again as a separate saving.
- Monthly extras: include equipment, required add-ons, and known recurring charges only when they are not already included in the rate.
- One-time costs: include installation, activation, purchased equipment, and any known switching charge you want to compare.
- Promotion length: use the actual number of discounted months. Compare a second year as well if you expect to stay.
Why the cheaper starting price can cost more
These are illustrative amounts, not AT&T, Spectrum, or other provider offers. Suppose Plan A is $50 a month for 12 months, then $80, with $10 in monthly extras. Plan B is $65 a month without a promotion, with no monthly extras and $50 in setup costs.

Plan A costs less in the first year. The price increase changes the result over two years. That is why the time you expect to keep a plan matters just as much as the initial monthly rate.
How the calculator works
We add the introductory rate for the applicable promotion months, the ongoing rate for the remaining months, monthly extras for the entire period, and one-time costs. Average monthly cost is that total divided by the number of months compared. The calculator uses cents to keep the comparison consistent.
It assumes one introductory period followed by one ongoing rate, with unchanged monthly extras. Taxes, usage charges, future price changes, cancellation costs, and discounts are included only if you enter them. It does not value reward cards, estimate prorated bills, or apply future discounts automatically. A blank or invalid field hides the estimate until it is completed.
Your entries are calculated in this page and are not saved by FindInternet or sent to a pricing service. The tool does not retrieve live provider offers.
Before you switch
A lower estimate is useful only if the plan can serve your home and meets your needs. Compare upload speed, data allowances, installation timing, and equipment alongside the price. Keep a copy of the offer you accept, and confirm the new service works before arranging cancellation of an existing connection when practical.
